Round 2

Detailed assessment by our in-house Caregiving experts and a wider set of our Innovation Champions across the US, using the criteria set out below.  Each entry was reviewed by a minimum of 3 people in order to avoid bias.

Round 3 - Semi-Finals

Public voting - one vote per entry, per registered user.

Round 4 - Finals

Judging by our panel of invited judges (see the Judges page). Our future depends on innovation.

Innovation propels us forward, and creates a better world for us all. It’s the foundation AARP was built upon. That’s why we are recognizing and celebrating the innovators in aging, empowering people to choose how they live as they age.

2017 Theme: Caregiving

By 2020, 117 million Americans are expected to need assistance, but the overall number of caregivers will only reach 45 million. This is a huge opportunity for companies large and small to reach an emerging market – and improve the lives of caregivers and their recipients.

New disruptive technologies and groundbreaking business models are about to change the world of caregiving for the better. We’re here to find those industry pioneers utilizing technology to create intuitive, affordable innovations. We’re here to celebrate the entrepreneurs of the frontier of change.

All entrants must be sure their innovations have:

  • Universal design and appeal
  • Differentiation
  • Meaningful benefits
  • New or Existing Technology
  • A Business Model
  • Safety Considerations
Health & Safety Awareness
Care Coordination
Transition Support
Social Well-Being
